Property Groups
Overview
IGI's geochemical software (Metis and p:IGI+) contains a comprehensive industry-relevant property model. This page explains how units of measure and ratios are treated in the IGI property model.
Usage: Throughout the system
Introduction
At its core, the IGI property model is designed around the common analytical techniques used in geochemical labs. Consequently, IGI has created property groups to bring together properties related to common metadata areas, analysis methods, and workflow actions. Subsequently, there is a link between the property and its assigned property group (often named in association with the analytical method), creating unique property instances across the model.

Currently, there are over 80 analysis groups within the IGI property model. This is continually under review, and new analysis groups and properties are added based on user requests and review.
